The location of the entertainment in relation to the dance floor and your guests at any event is a crucial element. A good rule of thumb is to place the entertainment right on the dance floor (see above floor plan). This allows the entertainment to see and communicate with all guests and quickly react when reading the crowd. We do recommend that the music levels should be concentrated on the dance floor for the comfort of your guests and for the total enjoyment of the reception. Each ballroom has it's own acoustic imprint which will either give great sound or not. We do a lot more than just set-up the equipment and play the music. Sometimes we can electronically correct the sound - often times it's totally out of our control. Your input to the banquet facility and it's staff is essential. Our first wedding after Hurricane Irene saw us venture to Stonington in the South East corner of the State.  Even though many homes and businesses, in this area, remained without power, the Salt Water Farm Vineyard was fully operational for Liisa and Jeff's wedding reception. Salt Water Farm Vineyard centerpiece is the vintage hangar which doubles as ballroom and operational winery.  The renovated buildings second floor opens onto a terrace with a beautiful expansive view of the vineyards, tidal marshes, a cove and the Long Island Sound - it's a picturesque location for a wedding. On the day of your reception we would like to make the musical experience as enjoyable as possible for as many of your guests as possible. Sometimes, the noise level maybe too high (don't be afraid to ask us to turn it down!) or too low (we'll gladly turn it up!). On other occasions we are placed in the unusual position where the music level CANNOT be turned down. How is this possible? When you complete the floor plan and seating arrangements it is crucial that you consider the location of the DJ system, i.e. speakers, in relation to your guests, i.e. older family members. Atmosphere Productions contract requests that you locate the DJ in "a designated reasonable location adjacent to the dancing area, for speaker location". It is our experience that the best possible sound level can be achieved if the speakers are located on or near where the dancing will occur. It's been awhile since we ventured up to A Villa Louisa , on the hilltop overlooking Bolton, Connecticut.  Formally, known as Vito's Birch Mountain Inn, this was a most frequented eatery and banquet facility spot some twenty years ago, with owner Tony welcoming you with a broad smile and maybe a hearty laugh.  In recent years, Claudia was that welcoming smile plus her distinctive style of running around making sure everything was just right. As the saying goes everything must change.  A Villa Louisa have new owners and is now Tastebud's At Birch Mountain.  Lana and her staff have taken over the role of welcoming guests to the new banquet facility.  We wish a happy retirement to Tony and his family. Jonathan Edwards Winery is located in North Stonington.  Nestled in the southeast portion of Connecticut, miles away in the country buy a stones throw from Foxwoods Resort Casino. As a winery, Jonathan Edwards handcrafts both premium Napa Valley, California and estate Connecticut wines to highlight each coasts' unique climate. As a reception site, you could not ask for a more picturesque location for an outdoor tented wedding reception.  The main building also has a stone patio and a deck overlooking the vast vineyard which stretches across the valley. So this was the unforgettable location that Christine & Josh chose for their Ceremony & Reception.  Atmosphere Productions String Trio provided elegant Ceremony music followed by outdoor Cocktail Hour music on the deck. There's no shortage of great locations for an outdoor wedding ceremony in Connecticut. So it came as no surprise when one of my clients mentioned last year, when they booked with us, that they would be having a Ceremony & Reception at Wickham Park . Located in Manchester, but stretching into East Hartford, with 250 acres of picnic areas, open fields, woodlands, ponds and gardens ~ it's one of my favorite places... it's where my wife and I got married in 1990 in The Oriental Garden. So, it was with a bit of a surprise and excitement to find out that they've added a new wedding ceremony location near The Cabin overlooking the Hartford skyline.
