Atmosphere Productions: Allyson & Dave - May 7th
It's always a nice touch when the banquet facility calls ahead of time to check if we have any requirements, before we have a chance to contact them. Allyson and Dave's wedding took us to the Trumbull Marriott where we had the pleasure of working with Linda Klein. She made us aware of the best time to arrive and when we pulled in, her staff directed us to the proper entrance for an easy load-in. For this we are truly appreciative.
The Marriott's standard banquet room settings made for an easy set-up, with the specifications we had discussed with Allyson and Dave prior to their wedding: Music system set-up on the dance floor, guests tables surrounding and older guests seated away from the speakers. This was a key element of the pre-planning.
Cocktail Hour was held in the lobby area just outside the main ballroom. We set up a remote broadcast speaker system, with no wires, transmitting a music mix of smooth jazz, standards and love songs, as requested.
With approximately 200 guests we had our first real test of the new QSC KW122 loudspeaker system. These small but powerful 2000 watt paired digital speakers filled the room with a deep rich sound quality and great vocal clarity that is essential for these events. This was crucial since the Mother of the Bride had stressed that music during dinner should be quiet enough for conversation.
Allyson and Dave selected Michael Buble's "Everything" for their First Dance and light mix of love songs from some of their favorite contemporary artists, which matched the style of dining - elegant and classy with white table cloths, chair covers and beautifully tall flowered centerpieces.
As Dinner finished, Allyson and Dave where the first up on the dance floor, as we moved into some Motown and 70's selections, previously selected by the Bride and Groom.
After the Cake Cutting with Nat King Cole's "L.O.V.E", we played a Custom Edit song combined with the Best Man's Toast and the Matron of Honor's Speech and we invited Allyson and Dave to start the dancing. Some Greek ethnic music was a special request to compliment their family traditions - which got everyone, young and old, out on the dance floor.
We kept everyone dancing with some of Allyson and Dave's favorites:
