4 Essential Steps Towards Selecting Your Entertainment

You've just got engaged!!!  Congratulations!!!

Now starts the selections process.  Your going to spend a lot of money on the wedding dress, the venue, the food, the flowers, the cake.

If your entertainment doesn't match the impression you've worked so hard to create, it WILL, sadly, stand out like a sore thumb.

Entertainment WILL have the largest impact on whether your dream wedding reception is a reality or a nightmare.

Here are 4 essential steps towards selecting your entertainment:

  1. STOP texting!  Yes. I. Said. It!!!  For initial contact this maybe a useful tool.  At some point you need to "speak" with the actual person who will be communicating with your guests.  If they do not have the right communications skills.  YOU WILL HAVE A PROBLEM!
  2. STOP emailing.... see essential step #1
  3. CALL the entertainment company.  Take 5 minutes out of your busy schedule to speak with the entertainer who will represent you at your wedding. DJ's are IN the entertainment business and they should know how to communicate to you what they do and how your vision fits with their style.  If they can't, then move onto the next one.  YOU CANNOT GET THIS FROM TEXTING and EMAILING!
  4. MEET with your prospective choice.  You don't want your first meeting of your DJ to be AT your reception! Take the time to meet and interview your entertainment provider. Whether it be virtually on SKYPE or FaceTime or a telephone consultation, you need to ask them the right questions until you find the one professional you can trust wholeheartedly, to provide the level and style of service your event will require and deserves.
