Atmosphere Productions: Don't Forget Sound For Your Outdoor Ceremony

Image
One overlooked part of the outdoor ceremony is the sound.... or lack thereof. Whilst having an outdoor ceremony may be romantic; the fact that your guests did not hear a word of those beautiful vows makes the whole event somewhat lacking. It's critically important that your outdoor ceremony have reliable sound reinforcement that allows ALL your guests to hear the officiant and the Bride and Groom. Remember, depending on the location, outdoor events are at the mercy of the elements, birds, passing vehicles and a myriad of other distractions. We recommend that at least a lapel microphone attached to the officiant should be part of any outdoor ceremony system. We also like to have a wireless microphone for a Reader or Soloist. Our sound systems set-up includes a speaker, mixing unit, Hard-drive music system with back-up and microphones, all neatly packaged in a discreet system. And discreet is the key word... there is NO need for large two speaker systems on t...

Atmosphere Productions: Lake Of Isles: Jaimie & Tom - November 4th

Image
A week after the historic October freak snowstorm that wiped out power to much of Connecticut, we ventured to North Stonington in the Southern part of the State.  The Lake of Isles seems to have fared much better than the rest of the State, with little power outages or tree damage. Jaimie and Tom had made plans to have a traditional indoor Ceremony at The Lake of Isles long before the snow storm.  So all of our planning centered around coordinating the Ceremony with the Cocktail Hour and then moving smoothly into the Reception for dancing. The Mother of the Bride, Debbie was exceptional in helping with the details and made some wonderful suggestions, including music selections that proved to be right on the mark.  From our first discussions I knew it would be a pleasure working with Debbie in planning this wedding. Thanks! Jaimie and Tom's First Dance Song: Israel Kamakawiwo'le "Somewhere Over The Rainbow/What A Wonderful World". Cake Cutting Song: Def L...

Atmosphere Productions: St. Clements Castle - Jessica & Chris - October 7th

Autumn in New England is beauty.  An Autumn wedding at one of our favorite facilities,  St. Clements Castle , in Portland, is always spectacular. From our first meeting with Chris & Jessica we understood their concept and worked together to bring all those elements together for a fun, elegant event.  It was a pleasure working with Chris & Jessica to create a specific playlist from Ceremony music right through to Reception dance music. Atmosphere Productions provided Ceremony music with our classical string trio.  The Ceremony was officiated by the very talented Mary Coburn , who made the Ceremony a fun, joyous occasion.  Adding to the personal touch was Chris & Jessica reciting their own wedding vows.  We highly recommend Mary, who contacted us prior and helped us work out wireless microphone arrangements, since we also provided sound for the Ceremony. Cocktail Hour followed immediately, with Atmosphere Productions Jazz Combo featuring R...

Atmosphere Productions: Sarah & Mark - March 12th

The Bond Ballroom in Hartford is one of our favorite facilities.  With the view eleven floors up, overlooking Bushnell Park and downtown Hartford, it's huge dance floor and the crystal chandelier as the centerpiece, this room is a classic example of 1920's style and grandeur.  Taking care of all the details is Joe Howard, Elli, Cathy and the rest of the great staff. This is the location that Sarah and Mark chose for their Ceremony and Reception.  This was also the same day as the St. Patrick's Day Parade in Downtown Hartford . The sun was shining and eyes were smiling as our Justice of the Peace, Sal J. Fiore officiated a beautiful indoor ceremony. Cocktail Hour followed for the guests whilst Sarah, Mark and family members took formal pictures with Brooke Sforza and her staff from Brooke Allison Photography , who worked quickly and smoothly to get all the pictures before dinner. For the introduction of the Bridal Party and parents, we used the grand staircase, with...

Carter & Dan - August 14th

Image
It's been awhile since we ventured up to A Villa Louisa , on the hilltop overlooking Bolton, Connecticut.  Formally, known as Vito's Birch Mountain Inn, this was a most frequented eatery and banquet facility spot some twenty years ago, with owner Tony welcoming you with a broad smile and maybe a hearty laugh.  In recent years, Claudia was that welcoming smile plus her distinctive style of running around making sure everything was just right. As the saying goes everything must change.  A Villa Louisa have new owners and is now Tastebud's At Birch Mountain.  Lana and her staff have taken over the role of welcoming guests to the new banquet facility.  We wish a happy retirement to Tony and his family. So, Carter and Dan chose this location for beauty and they were not disappointed on this summer morning with bright sunshine and low humidity.... a perfect day for an outdoor wedding ceremony.  Atmosphere Productions provided an outdoor ceremony sound system ...

Erin & Michael - August 6th

The Lily Lake Inn is one of those often forgotten out of the way reception places in Wolcott, CT.  With a landscaped garden, gazebo, outdoor patio, stone walkways and the fountain as your backdrop, this really is a stunning facility.  In this beautiful setting, on a cool August evening, Erin and Michael chose to have their Ceremony and Reception. As the sun began to set Erin walked down the aisle to the sounds of "Trumpet Voluntary" played by our Ceremony Violinist Ben Dean from Atmosphere Productions.  Erin and Michael had also taken our suggestion of the Ceremony Sound System , so that all invited guests could hear the Ceremony perfectly. Quite uniquely, the Ceremony ended with "The Star Wars Theme" played on the Trumpet by a family friend... priceless! Erin & Michael stayed outside for pictures, taking full advantage of the surrounds and Cocktail Hour music was provided inside the Ana Delia Banquet Room to the sounds of love songs and jazz vocal stand...
