2 Terms You Need To Know Before Hiring Your Videographer.  

When hiring your videographer or your wedding filmmaker you need to speak the same language, so that there is no confusion on your big day.



For that reason, we asked Rachel from Olive Ewe Productions to give us clarification on two popular industry terms:


Copyright Law

All copyrights must be followed when selecting music for your wedding video. What does this mean for you?


Well that means, your favorite Beyonce song or your favorite Coldplay song is most definitely off the table for licensing. Therefore, DO NOT under any circumstances select a vendor that uses unlicensed music, this puts YOU the client at risk.


Even if your video remains private, this is still against the law, and things in this day and age of the internet have a way of not remaining private forever. So, speak with your potential videographer more about where they license their music.


Drones

Drones are all the rage these days. Certainly, they can make for some interesting shots of your venue and add a feeling of grandiosity to your video.


Therefore, be sure when speaking to potential vendors about drone work that they have an FAA licensed drone operator and that they are insured. Consequently, drones are dangerous and should only be operated by licensed professionals.


Finally, hiring your videographer is not just about writing an check and letting them get on with their work.  You must understand the terminology to better access what they will be doing for you on your special day.
